Lucky Bay (Kalbarri)

We love to go offroad-camping so over the time we got a list of our best camping spots around perth and in western australia, from close to the city to far away down south or up north, we managed to see awesome places with our trailers and would like to introduce you to some of them!

Above:camping right behind the dunes

Every time we come back to that place we find new areas, new tracks and so much time to relax. There is pretty much nothing around, so come prepared or you have to drive to Kalbarri for new supplies 🙂 It’s also one of the softest beaches we ever went to while towing our trailer, let your tyres straight down to 18psi, have sand tracks, a snatch strap and a shovel with you!

You get bogged down so easily – it also happened to us 🙂 This can be full-on soft sand beach driving and with a two-ton trailer in the back of your car acting as an anchor, you should be careful where you are going, especially close to the water tracks. But the reward for the drive is awesome, great beach camping behind the dunes – good wind protection and if you’re lucky and pick the right spot nobody else will be around!
